The organisation was formed in 1984 and was initially known as VARC, or Voluntary Action Resource Centre. For many years we were based at the Old Sheriff Court building on Hope Street in Falkirk.

In 2006 we moved to Callendar Business Park, opposite Link Housing and along side Callendar Park and the Antonine Wall. We sublet desks and office space and currently have Anne Frank Trust Scotland, Voluntary Action Scotland and Falkirk and District Women's Aid sharing premises with us.

In 2009 we became recognised, by Scottish Government and Falkirk Community Planning Partnership, as the Third Sector Interface for the Falkirk Council area. To find out more please see What is a Third Sector Interface?

We achieved the EFQM Committed to Excellence Award in June 2010, recognising the quality approach we take to serving local people and organisations.
