Adeline and Fiona

Adeline and Fiona have put an enjoyable hobby, and a huge amount of skill, to good use as they volunteer their time to help our local communities. Fiona has always been an avid knitter and Adeline soon got bitten by the knitting bug as well, which you will see from some of the beautiful hand-made items pictured below. They told us:

“We started knitting items to donate to charities more by accident than design. Four or five years ago, as recently retired ladies and next door neighbours of thirty years, we started knitting together. At that time, Adeline was involved with a local children’s charity and we knitted Easter Bunnies for them as a fund raising activity, and from there have gone on to create many more items to donate to people in our local communities.”

“We knit for the pleasure of knitting, the friendship and shared passion for it, and perhaps most importantly, knowing that what we enjoy will benefit someone else. Some of the organisations we have donated to are Women’s Aid,The Salvation Army, Ivybank Nursing Home, HomeStart, Falkirk Food Bank, So Precious and Alzheimer Scotland.”
